Valtos Beach hotel is a small family run resort daintily placed in a mountain hill surrounded by lemon and olive trees with fabulously relaxing views onto the bay, ocean and nearby castle.
As with most businesses around Parga – it’s a family thing, and you will see names of families hung up outside restaurants and cafes around the town. Valtos Beach Hotel appeared to be a tight ship with mum and dad still rolling up their sleeves and remaining in the thick of things – they went out of their way to talk to all guests and make everyone feel welcome, and said a personal thank you/goodbye to each guest before we left with a wave off!
A Greek Hideaway
The smell of fresh flowers permeates the grounds of the hotel, adding to a botanical garden feeling, along with the chatter of the birds.
A Room With a View
At One With Nature
All you need is a waterfall and bottle of ‘Herbal Essences’ shampoo (if you’ve ever seen the adverts you’ll get what I mean).
Bites
Trip Adviser warned me but I still had hope that it wouldn’t happen with the current lower than tropical temperatures. Hmmmm, well I did get a few bites – mosquito bites I think!
Steps
If your mobility is weak, the resort isn’t really equipped to accommodate this. There are a lot of steps, in fact there are stairs everywhere, around every turn and corner.
There are no lifts and no rooms that you can get to without some stairs.
The main reception is up two flights of stairs.
The hotel is built into a mountain hill.
Our holiday rep explained that as new businesses open, they are expected to the make necessary adjustments to accommodate mobility needs.
Lounge and Reception
Generous food portions
The reviews were not lying!
There’s no such thing as a small portion; if you’re on a diet  – don’t go to Parga.
Breakfast:
If you like bacon and eggs you will not be disappointed as there is plenty of it every morning.
The Beach
The water is so clean and clear…
