Carreg Cennen Castle Carmarthenshire

When in Wales, you never get tired of castles, so here’s another magnificent beauty, Carreg Cennen Castle, in Carmarthenshire near the River Cennen.  Building began around the fourth century, yet it’s ruins are incredibly well preserved, and majestic.

It’s a steep walk, great for the legs and the views are worth every step.

“One of the most spectacularly sited Welsh castles is Carreg Cennen, located north of Swansea”

Tickets please…

Oozing with barnyard country charm…

This baby wouldn’t let me walk past, and showered me with horse kisses lol

Keep walking, it’s steep but the views are priceless, as is that feeling of being out in the fields, peaceful and glorious!

Those views….

Keep walking, keep climbing….

The kind of views I normally only get to see when looking down from an aeroplane – now I can feel and breath it all in – beautiful Wales, beautiful UK!

Perfect shelter for a bird’s nest

Free, just as they should be.

Looking back

Beautiful

Seems appropriate to burst into song with …and I think to myself, what wonderful world…… Louis Armstrong 😉
