Seas, Oceans, Waves

Calm, relaxed and at peace, that’s how I feel when I’m near the sea, hearing the waves, feasting on an infinite ocean view, my mind is clearer and thoughts come to me more easily.
The sea seems charged with emotion, sometimes it’s still, unassuming and beckoning, then within hours, minutes even, it develops an almighty rage, tossing and turning, roaring out into the horizon.
There is an unspoken therapy in those waves, that shoreline, the sea air.
My allure with the ocean is fuelled by its mesmerising and mysterious energy.
There are depths of the ocean that have never been explored, impossible to reach….another world.
To sit an watch the ocean is to massage my mind, the ultimate spa treatment.

  1. I have quite the opposite affinity with space. Oceans have always made me cautious. Not sure if it’s because I grew up on an island surrounded by water

      1. I have a deep respect for the ocean and it’s ability to consume, hide then reveal only when it is ready. There is a fear which also goes with that I suppose

Mind massage – terrific word picture plus alliteration.
The top photo reminds me of Hawaii.
    Well written

  4. Sheree – Cote d'Azur – I'm a sports mad Englishwoman, now living (thank goodness) in France, who developed a passion for cycling rather late on in life. I started the blog to keep my friends and family up-to-date with my adventures on two wheels, my recipes, my travels and my wonderful life in France. The title of my blog refers to when I first started cycling with my local club. I was always at the back of the bunch, until I slid off it on the first incline! On short climbs I could always catch back up on the ascent but on long climbs......I just used to bid them farewell and continue at my own speed. My cycling’s now much improved but I still get dropped!

Couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve had three properties with sea/lake views and it’s where I’ve felt happiest.
