Dogs and Greggs!! I know. You’re probably wondering what on earth I’m babbling on about this time π I’m having a passionfruit tea – I’ve still got a stash that I brought back from a Barbados holiday ages ago….very aromatic. Apparently passionfruit can be helpful if you’re having trouble sleeping because of it’s high magnesium content π€ interesting!
Anyway, if you’ve got your brew and something to munch on, let’s get straight into it:
Picture of the day
It was a blazing hot day when I spotted this lady walking her dog on a lead while she pushed his empty buggy. I noticed her stop and look down at the dog – the dog looked tired and unenthusiastic, probably exhausted in the heat so she picked him up and daintily sat him in the buggy, getting him comfortable before she pushed him along the street. Bless. π₯°
Overheard
Man: ( must have tried to hug/touch the woman he was walking with)
Woman: Loudly and irritably “Don’t touch me, I’m wearing white”
Yes – it’s crazy how quickly white gets dirty, even when you don’t sit on anything, lean on anything or touch anything!! π¬
We need to talk about GreggsΒ
Yep.
Greggs is a bakery/sandwich shop in the UK for those who don’t know.
I was in Primark couple of weeks ago (Marble Arch branch) and I heard someone saying ‘”yeah but a lot of people really like Greggs” and wondered what he was talking about. Next thing, I glance to my left and see an actual clothing range with the Greggs branding all over it.
Okaaaaayyyyy. What is going on here π
Is Greggs the new black?
I haven’t seen anyone wearing any of this…..yet.
Wth. Is it just me. If so then I am much more out of touch than I thought. π
Lidl did something similar a while back – they did Lidl trainers, not sure how popular they were though.
Flowers
I attended a lovely little wedding recently and all the flowers were sunflowers, very cheerful. π» π» π»
Ordinarily, I’ve always found sunflowers strangely scary, but I liked them on this occassion.
Spotted

Hard not to notice this one, looks like a collectors item – London West End.

So Superdog is for EVERY family member!!! Both dogs and humans can take ‘Superdog’ vitamins then?? andΒ presumably the cat as well if you have one? (Scuse the blurry pic)

I can’t remember where I took this photo, but retrieved it from my phone during a deleting session. Hopefully you’ve not had to roll your eyes out loud today π
Have a lovely week ahead, ‘make hay while the sun shines’ and keep well.
I’ll be catching up with all of your blogs soon – I’m due a blog binge!! ππx

Sorry, I’m so late getting to your post this time/again, Cherryl. I opened it sometime last week, but things got in the way, mostly my emotions and problems. I’m glad to have come across it today, though. Your posts are always delightful to read – full of interesting facts and images. Reading this this evening has made me smile, and believe me, that’s welcome, as it’s been very tough this week. I love the little dog in the pushchair. It reminds me of the ‘cat lady’ in my town. She walks about with her cat around her shoulders like a real-life fur stole – I always hated them – the stoles, not the cats. My Nan had a fox fur around her neck on posh occasions. It horrified me. Fur should be firmly left on the animals.
I love the rolling eyes sign. I’ll have to remember that one. I haven’t seen any Greggs merchandise yet, but next time I go past Greggs in town, I’ll take a peep and see if they have any in there – not that I want them, though. Just out of interest. I haven’t been to Primark for years. That red car is cool, by the way! Imagine what that must have cost! I love the sunflowers at that wedding. That’s such a novel idea. Really bright and cheerful, too. Hope you are well, my friend. Take care of yourself ~ Ellie xx π¦’ππ€

I’m glad the post brought a smileβ¨ No need to apologise, you are not contracted to read my posts, let alone promptly π but it’s nice to know you enjoy the posts. Read as and when you feel like it, no pressure (that’s what I’m like with blogs), afterall, we all have other things going on in life! π
Yes that red car probably cost a pretty penny!!! I’m sure the owner was probably somewhere nearby watching.
Wishing you a better week ahead Ellie, and a more cheerful one πx

I read about the Greggs clothes, it would be like buying clothes to do free advertising for them. Or people would think that you worked there.
Cherryl
Yes free advertising for Greggs. Maybe they should offer a discount to customers who make a purchase while wearing their clothes!

I love the image of the woman and the dog – how sweet!
Best week wishes!

Loved the post of so many little things. It is just nice to see, as I don’t tend to get out much these days – except to the beach and for walks around here – which is quite remote and in the country. No buildings or people really.
When I worked in downtown Chicago right near Union Station and the river, we used to sit by the river and have lunch and people watch. This was especially fun in summer, as there was always a great variety of people who worked in the area as well as tourists. There was always someone interesting, long with our ‘regulars.’
As for the branded clothing, etc. I can’t say I am a big fan of that. I do have a “Forest Gump Shrimp” baseball cap that is a souvenir from Navy Pier many years ago when my dear friend and I spent the day there for my birthday one year. She has since passed away and I have the cap still and think of her every time I see it. I don’t wear it though because it is a RED cap and I don’t want people to think it is a “MAGA” hat. They kind of ruined red caps for me here on this side of the Atlantic. But I keep it in my drawer nonetheless.
Anyway – have a great week. Glad to see you posting. Take care. π
Cherryl
Thanks for reading, glad you enjoyed the post – maybe the MAGA theme will fizzle out in time π
Have a great week tooπ«

A great friend of mine used to say she was ‘smiling out loud’. I loved and adopted it. I will do the same with the eye rolling π
