Looking for somewhere for lunch, a Turkish lunch?
Well if you’re in London you might stumble across one of the popular GΓΆkyΓΌzΓΌΒ Turkish restaurants.
Meat eaters, if you haven’t tried this place, you might want to give it a go because as you will see – they absolutely pile on the meat, that lovely chargrilled type of meat.
The shared platters are like a meat mountain (in fact I think that’s what they should call it – The Meat Mountain), along with a valley of bread (a basket with a generous amount of flat bread is served as standard) and you’ll be hard pressed not to request containers to take 90% of your food home with you once you’re full.
It’s one of those situations where you feel full before you even start to eat.Β
Of course there are also things on the menu that don’t include mountains of meat, but on the whole, meat dishes are they main options.Β
They also do take aways to some areas.
Happy lunching!! π
Even if it’s not a Turkish lunch.

Hahaha, I feel full already π π€£
Love meat and this looks delciious!
It was so good π
It looks real yummy.
I am dissapointed there are no recipes as I would love to cook these delicacies .
The food was lovely, restaurants don’t usually share recipes – but you can look up Turkish recipes/cooking lessons online.
Looks delicious and watering Cherryl
Very much so πβ¨
Looks absolutely delicious and filling Cherryl
Very much soβ¨
I love meat, but it hasn’t loved me for a long time. Every once in a while I really want a big juicy steak medium rare with butter and salt and pepper. I eat chicken, turkey, and all seafood and get along fine. I drooled a little over those pictures.
Maybe that’s not a bad thing – the food above was a mix of chicken and lamb, but I wouldn’t eat that much meat in one go on a regular basis π I try to eat more fish, generally.
My neighbor is from Turkey and owned a restaurant..I love this turkish food. My favorite is lamb skewers.
Nice chargrilled lamb skewers π
Looks so delicious! My stomach agrees, rumble rumble…
Ha ha, same here when I look at those pictures again π
Thanks for reading Rebecca β¨
Turkish has to be the best. πππ
Delicious! We lived in Turkey for two years – still miss their delicious food (and can instantly tell when it’s not authentic, or has been diluted in favour of non-middle-Eastern palettes) when we order Turkish. We have a very good Turkish restaurant near where we live but due to our lockdown can’t get there. π
Living in Turkey – lovely, you’ll have been able to really indulge in authentic Turkish food π I hope you get to visit your local restaurant soonπ€
That looks delicious! And super meaty haha
Their food is very tasty ππ½β¨
Oooh, that IS meaty! We really like Sofra in London, there’s one in St Christopher’s Place although sadly not now just off Covent Garden, which used to be our local. We have some good meze places in Birmingham, although more Lebanese than Turkish, with the same kind of stuff.
Yes very ,meaty indeed π π
Sofra looks very nice!!
